Carole Easterling, Performing Rights Director, BMI- Nashville

"This is going on my play list. Incredible.  A beautiful voice with gut-wrenching lyrics....listen...really....it's worth it and I dare you to get it out of your mind afterward" ...
Julie Powers Schoerke, JKS Communications, Chicago

"A powerful, very timely song written and performed by Celeste Friedman, a great singer/songwriter. The images are as mesmerizing as the haunting lyrics and melody. If this doesn't touch you and make you think and hopefully take action, nothing will"...

The Road to Santiago- New CD Release - October 16, 2011

Road_to_Santiago-CD_cover.jpg

For Immediate Release:

October 16, 2011

Songs For Charlie Music proudly announces the CD release of "The Road to Santiago".

Grammy nominated singer-songwriter and composer Celeste Friedman delivers an eclectic journey of originals in tribute to the countless pilgrims who have crossed the five-hundred mile trek to the Cathedral de Compostela. For over one thousand years, it has been believed to be the final resting place of the apostle Saint James.

The Road to Santiago de Compostela
A five-hundred mile trek across Spain over the Pyrenees Mountains and rugged terrain.  The trail is fickle, from smooth sand or grass to rocks and ridges.  Many believe it to be a spiritual transformation and powerful challenge of faith.

"Having not yet taken the journey myself", states Celeste, "I close my eyes and imagine.  I can feel the angels all around me.  The meseta beckons, as the mountains slowly rise behind.  The endless vineyards along the way are an elixir for the soul.  As I near my celestial destination, I descend through a forest in the snow.  Peering through a veil of sweet persuasion, the moon lights my way, the way of Saint James."

Espiritu Santo mi guia . . . Celeste

The official release date is set for Celeste's birthday, October, 28, 2011 and will be available on CDBaby, iTunes and various digital music outlets.  For more information, contact Celeste directly at: Celeste@songsforcharliemusic.com

From the Queen to Charlie Sheen - March 5, 2011

"Bad, Bad Boys Like You"  by Celeste Friedman

A catchy tune poking fun at Charlie Sheen and his life as a self-proclaimed 'Adonis' with tiger blood, has just hit the airwaves on the east coast.
In an interview with John Holt, host of Networking Singles on WNRI in Rhode Island this week, Grammy nominated singer-songwriter Celeste Friedman said, "Sheen is giving America what they want and since the networks want ratings, let it all play out on television, including the good, the bad and the ugly".

Friedman, like most Americans, agree that you can't make this stuff up and the writers of Two and A Half Men were exposing as much of the real Charlie under the guidelines and standards of CBS.  Now, Sheen can name his price and he's anybody's bad boy that America loves to hate.

Friedman's "Bad, Bad Boys Like You" is on YouTube:

London, England-  Songs For Charlie Music is very proud and honored to announce that Grammy nominee and singer-songwriter Celeste Friedman has received special recognition from the Official Office of Queen Elizabeth of England for her song, “The Son of a Soldier”.

Friedman penned the ballad in tribute to Sjt. John McAlese, who was tragically killed while on duty in the Sanjin District of Afghanistan in 2009.  After discovering a story in the London Daily Mail, Ms. Friedman recalls seeing a photo of the widow and their baby son.  “I needed to write the song for all of the sons and daughters of our fallen heroes”, states Friedman.

Although Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth does not involve her position directly in matters of the British military, she was pleased to learn of an American songwriter who would take the time to honor a soldier from the British Battalion, The Rifles.

“The Son of A Soldier” can be purchased and downloaded online on CDBaby and iTunes.

Going Red for 2011! - January 1, 2011

Celeste rings in the new year partnering with the American Heart Association, supporting the “Go Red for Women” campaign. Launching on Valentine’s Day of 2011, she will donate 10% of the book sale proceeds to the Hilton Head Island local chapter.

Returning to the Low Country this February, where she was a resident of Hilton Head in the early 1990’s, Celeste will have a chance to spend some time with her dear friend Monty Jett on WLOW Radio, 107.9 on the 17th and sign books in Bluffton at Books ‘n Brew on the 18th.  Saturday, Feb. 19th will be so exciting, exhibiting with 34 other select authors from across America and Europe at The 4th annual Savannah Book Festival.

"As I cross the country promoting my book, Single 101: 101 Reason to Celebrate Being Single, Celeste says, I think of how each reason exemplifies freedom and happiness. In order to find that peace of mind we all search for, we must protect our hearts in love and healthy living."

The Go Red for Women movement’s main mission is to reduce heart disease and stroke. Heart disease continues to be the Number One killer of women across the world and more women die of cardiovascular disease and stroke than the next four causes of death combined including all forms of cancer.

February 4, 2011 is National Wear Red Day. For more information on how you can donate or participate in getting the word out to those you love, register online at www.goredforwomen.org. It’s free to join and working together to protect our hearts, we can be free of this dreaded disease.

Columbus, Ohio- Flying Solo Publishing is proud to announce the release of “Single 101: 101 Reasons to Celebrate Being Single” by author and Grammy nominated singer-songwriter Celeste Friedman. The book will launch on June 30, 2010 and will be available on Amazon.com and other digital online retailers. You can find it in the Kindle Store as of today, June 16, 2010, just follow this link: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B003S3S06M.

In “Single 101”, Celeste opens a Pandora’s Box of what lives in the hearts of single men and women. Revealing funny truths, common principles and basic needs, she salutes those who enjoy their independence and fearlessly tread outside of the mainstream. Friedman gives allegiance and support to singles who are content living alone, unveiling the truth that not all single people are lonely, abandoned and desperate to find a mate.

“I’ll be the first to admit that it’s complicated to live with me”,

says Friedman. “My passion for writing and composing consumes my days and nights; I don’t function in a messy environment; and I prefer the bed all to myself”.

Celeste claims that after two marriages and a few boyfriends who temporarily played the role of Mr. Right, she has been far more successful living alone. Since opting to fly solo, she has been nominated for a Grammy Award and two European Indie Artist of the Year Awards; scored for a Pulitzer Prize-nominated play; received several honors and citations in music and education; nominated for two Pat Weaver Awards for contributions in television; and her work has been featured in the Ottawa International Animation Film festival, as well as Festival de Cannes in 2008.

Empowerment . . . Freedom to Pursue Your Passion . . . No In-Laws . . . Spontaneity

“You’ll laugh, cry, smile and find “Single 101” to be very poignant, matter-of-fact and real. It’s an opportunity to look within, discovering an empowering tranquility”.

Check out the latest review of "The Tide" on TakeRootandWrite.com.
Take Root's Marta Hoelscher shares her review of each track of Celeste's CD.
"Celeste's newest CD was just released in June of 2009 and is really an interesting mix of music. Celeste has an absolutely beautiful voice that is smooth and soothing as you listen.
This is a beautiful CD from a relatively new face on the Christian music scene and it's well worth the time to listen to it."
