Campaign Song by Ohio Native Heard in Berlin and Across Europe - July 25, 2008
Berlin, Germany- American singer-songwriter/composer, 2005 Grammy Nominee and Ohio native Celeste Friedman is garnering attention around the world with her campaign song for Barack Obama, titled "Oh Barack!"
On Thursday, July 24th, as Senator Obama spoke before a crowd of tens of thousands, not far from where the Berlin Wall once stood, Friedman's song, in support of his campaign, played over the airwaves of Spreeradio, 105.5 FM.
We would also like to thank these radio stations in Europe for their airplay and support of
“Oh Barack!”: Radio Osttirol, Austria; Radio Maria, Austria; Radio Cernusco Stereo, Italy; and ECMA Radio, Austria.
Currently, stations in France, Belgium, Denmark, Ireland and the United Kingdom have requested a copy of the tune.
“We in Holland and the Netherlands all have our preference for a democratic candidate and most of them are a fan of Barack Obama. So, we are playing Celeste’s song!”

Within the past year, Friedman's CD, "Every Tear I Know" reached Number One in France and Austria. In 2007, she was chosen as one of the 50 songwriters from 50 states to share her music on a compilation CD sent to US troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.
